THE COST OF GREED

60 min investigative documentary.

The planet has now reached tipping point; poisoned rivers, exhausted soils and climate change have reached dangerous levels.
Modern agriculture is largely to blame. Vast areas of land have been dedicated to growing crops to feed animals. Those animals have been used as disposable commodities to feed a growing population.

Food producers and retailers have minimised compassion to maximise profit, becoming global entities that control the world's food system, generating billions of dollars in revenue.
The industrialisation of our food system has led to a public health crisis. Obesity and diabetes have reached epidemic proportions. Cancer, heart disease and other health issues are now being related to the food that we eat.
Scientists believe that our food system is no longer sustainable.

The Cost of Greed' looks at the food business from farm to fork. It asks the question; can humans continue to eat as if there is no future and no responsibility anymore.
